Subject:Pennsic Podcasts - Clan Blue Feather
Posted by:esprix.
Time:10:22 am.
Mood: excited.

I was delighted to sit down last Pennsic and do an interview for the Pennsic Independent Podcasts about Clan Blue Feather. It was just posted today:

http://www.pennsicindependentpodcast.com/e021-blue-feather

I tried my best to talk about who we are, what we do, our history, etc., and I hope I did a good job on behalf of the Clan. If you're interested in a primer about the Clan, you might enjoy listening (and really, all the podcasts are quite entertaining - I do recommend them).

Subject:Celebrate the Clan's 20th Anniversary!
Posted by:esprix.
Time:6:50 pm.
In December of 1990, the following badge was registered with the SCA College of Arms to Moses von dem Falken for the use of "House Blue Feather:"

"Argent, a feather azure."

In celebration of the past 20 years of Clan Blue Feather, all and sundry are invited to attend the Clan Blue Feather Ball and Fashion Cotillion to be held on Tuesday, August 10, at 9:00 p.m. in the Dance Tent at the Pennsic War in the Kingdom of Aethelmearc.

This year attendees are encouraged to dress in their best, most original, amazing, outrageous and/or elegant blue feather-themed garb to show off their Blue Feather pride.

As usual, there will be dancing, music, revelry, entertainment and refreshments, as well as a Chinese auction. There will also be roving mystery judges, and prizes will be awarded to gentles wearing the most noteworthy garb.

Please feel free to spread the word! More information about the Clan can be found at www.bluefeather.org.

Subject:Prospective Pennsicer- Beyond the War?
Posted by:serelle1.
Time:10:29 am.
 Hello, everyone!

I've been an on and off SCAer with my family since I wasquite  young, and I've heard only tantalizing bits and pieces about Pennsic, which seem to suggest something livelier than a Ren fair, and much better matched to me in spirit. But I really know so little! Would anyone be willing to tell me about their experiences, the groups that meet up there, the A&S...I want to learn all about it!
 Thank you-
Serelle

Subject:Storage trailers at Pennsic
Posted by:esprix.
Time:3:13 pm.

My encampment at Pennsic has been renting a storage unit for several years now for our shared camp belongings. Recently it's gotten somewhat unwieldy, requiring two trips in a U-Haul, which makes for a lot of loading and unloading when a lot of people are eager to hit the road home.

Talk has arisen about buying a trailer and storing it on-site at Cooper's Lake, which, from our understanding, is considerably cheaper. Does anyone here have experience with such? We're looking for feedback about anything and everything - what it's like using a trailer, what are the pros and cons, what kind, how much, experiences with having it hauled around each year, etc.

Any input you can provide would be most helpful and appreciated!

So where and when are the parties this year?

Every year I put together a party calendar for my camp and every year I feel like I'm missing something. So help a girl out and let me know about your party so I can have the most complete list possible.

Thanks!

Subject:Another Battle!
Posted by:morienmacbain.
Time:2:50 am.
It's official! The Aethelmearc Woods Battle will take place Tuesday Aug. 4th from 2 to whenever people have had enough! Latecomers WILL be allowed to play. Both sides will enter from the south side of the Woods area. Combat archery will be permitted. Come have fun in the Big Green!

Please don't march up Currie road to reach the muster area. Count Jehan's Bounty is a safer approach. Help with marshalling, waterbearing, and chirurgeoning will be appreciated.

Thanks to Duchess Tessa the Huntress and the BMDL for making it happen!

Posted by:folkloricfusion.
Time:8:26 pm.
Sorry if this is a little off topic but desperation time has set in and I need some help.

My friend and booth helper Mary Jane needs a ride to Pennsic.  She lives in the New York City area and can leave either Thursday night or Friday morning July 31.  She only has a duffle bag, small rolling luggage, and her backpack and can share gas and driving.  Can anyone help?  Please contact me here or email Pacita at materialis dot com.

Thank you so much for your help!

Subject:Why would/did you pick Pennsic?
Posted by:arxacies.
Time:10:17 am.

On the eve of my first attempt of getting into SCA heavy, I have a question for you guys.

Because I have limited off time and even more limited finances I am unable to go to all of the summer events I want to so I have a question for ya'll.

What are the pro's and con's of Pennsic?

If you picked Pennsic to do over other summer activities, why?

In case anyone's curious, my options are Pennsic, Starwood, Free Spirit, or X Day.

Also, as an important point to mention, I most likely would NOT be participating in any of the Pennsic battles as I've heard that it is a very bad place to have your first heavy war to be.  I'd be doing pickup fights mostly.

Hi, I'm Julie your cruise director. Wait, that isn't right.

A few years back I took on the "job" of putting together a list of Pennsic evening activities to post for my camp. This year I'm having trouble finding information ahead of time. Pennsic.net doesn't have much on it and every time I try to go on tribe.net I get server messages.

So, what's happening this year?
